DP Crystal POM now online + Crystal mobile making workshop at Object

Our newest shape is now available online. This shape is a little different from our first DIY shapes. Our first shapes were based on a slot design (using a craft knife to cut out the shape). This new shape is easier to make  (just scissors and glue) and is designed to be carried flat and pulled into shape by pulling the string.  You can find them here. A video showing how to make your POM is here.

During the workshop you will also be decorating these shapes. Each participant will receive a specially created mobile making kit to create 3x 3D paper crystals. Our exhibition at Takehara

We just got back from Japan last week. This week we were busy with a zine fair in Sydney and are finally getting around to organising our photos and Pozible rewards.

Here are some images of our Bamboo Princess installation at Takehara. Our inspiration came from the 10th Century Japanese folk tale: Kaguya Hime(Kaguya Princess)/ The tale of the bamboo cutter. (It is the story of a girl who was found in a stalk of a glowing bamboo). Our installation was looking at the spirit of the Princess inside the bamboo, as well as the Shinto belief that gods and spirits coexist in everything. We exhibited our work in an the old historic house Matsuzaka- tei.

Thank you for all the support of our Pozible campaign... we are here in Takehara!
We arrived 2 weeks ago and have been busy making making making. At the moment we are setting up and will be exhibiting our pieces over the next week.

We are staying at Chosenji temple, 5km out of town. We walk an hour to and from our studio, located in the historic district of Takehara. We walk in between mountains and follow the river into town. The views are just breathtaking :)
